Hii hii everyone! I’ve noticed lately that I get a few comments on my tan, so I figured I’d do a little post on it. I’m someone who takes sun safety pretty seriously (I do my best), but I keep my skin healthy and glowing with a couple great products! I’m an avid tanner and I’ve tried a tonnnnnn of tanning products, and these have been my favourite for a long time!
Sunscreen
I thought I’d start with sunscreen because I wear sunscreen on my face literally everyday. I use Zo Skin Health’s Smart Tone SPF 50 and I have been for over a year. It matches your skin tone and is perfect for those who don’t wear a lot of makeup because it almost acts as a BB cream. It’s available at Bijou Skin Health in Kelowna, or online here. It’s pricey, but sun protection is so important and this is an item worth splurging on IMO!
Face
So because I wear sunscreen on my face everyday, I like to keep it glowy with two products.
The product I use on more of a daily basis is Tan-Luxe’s Illuminating Self-Tan Drops “The Face”. I will put a dollop of moisturizer on the top of my hand, and then put a drop of the self-tan drops on the moisturizer and then blend it all together on my face and neck. There are two colours to choose from, and you can decide how dark to make it by how many drops you use. I have the light/medium colour and I only use one or two drops at a time. It’s the perfect amount to give yourself a healthy, natural glow and I like to use it every couple days! Make sure to wash your hands well afterwards.
Secondly, if I’m actually getting ready or going out and want a little extra oomf and glow, I’ll use Organic Tan Keep Me Golden. This is also a product that when I use it, I feel like I have to put very little makeup on over top. I spray it all over my face, neck + chest (less is more) and it gives the prettiest glow! I’ve also been using this for over a year and a bottle lasts a long time.
Body
Step 1 is to always make sure your bod is moisturized – dry skin is a no no. My favourite favourite body cream is the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and it smells soooooo good. I like to rotate, so one day I’ll moisturize with a regular cream like the Brazilian Bum Bum, and the other day I’ll use a gradual tanning cream. I’ve been using Tan-Luxe’s “The Butter” for years and love it. It even has a light shimmer in it that is so pretty!
Another product I am currently obsessed with is Sol de Janeiro’s Glowmotions Glow Body Oil. It’s not necessarily a “tanning” product but helps to add some glow! It’s an aluminizing, hydrating, soft-shimmer glow oil for the body and face with a buildable, visibly blurring tint that gives a healthy-looking, visibly gorgeous glow. I even use it as highlighter sometimes! It’s so pretty. 😊
The last product I figured I’d share is my go-to highlighter kit (currently 50% off!). You guessed it, I’ve been using it for years and I think a little bit of highlighter is so great for adding a touch of glow!
